BASIC INFORMATION
Accessibility: The village of Zalasárszeg is located north-east of Nagykanizsa, along main road No. 7.
Characteristics: The name of the village was first mentioned in written documents in 1468. During the Turkish occupation, the village was completely destroyed. In 1711 the developing village was hit by the plague. The predominantly agricultural village grew wheat, rye and corn on the good-quality soil. In the 19th century orchards were established, and animal husbandry was started.
Local attractions: The village is making efforts to promote village tourism by the development of accommodation and horse-riding routes.
